Wilson Shieh

Working on silk in Chinese classical figurative style, Wilson Shieh chooses issues of sexuality as the main theme for his paintings. By adapting scenes from pornography, Wilson play them with a touch of humorous sense. His characters are usually naked to pose for metaphorical and idiomatic expression. The show will includes a series of 20 new paintings. Born in Hong Kong in 1970, Wilson Shieh graduated from the Fine Arts Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994. His latest shows included "Sensual Appetite" and "The Bad Art Show" at Fringe Club last year. He is also the winner of painting category of the "Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition 1997".
